Day-Long Meditation Retreat
Sunday, March 14th
8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Debbie George
This day-long meditation retreat will provide an opportunity for participants to experience the calming of the mind that can be achieved through a prolonged period of practice. The day will consist of alternating periods of sitting and walking meditation, along with a vegetarian lunch and a recorded Dharma talk by a recognized meditation teacher. [Special Note] Although the Online Registration description identifies the price of this workshop as $0, the workshop is actually being offered on a "dana" basis. In the Buddhist tradition, dana means that students make voluntary contributions based upon each individual’s leading to give back in response to what they feel they have received.

Healing and transformation do not result from changing what you believe or even the way you think. They come from allowing a shift to occur at the very core of your being. This core shift changes how you feel in your body, how you perceive the world around you and eventually gives rise to positive thinking and wholesome mind states.

One of the most potent ways to foster this shift is to explore the mysterious felt sense of your body. This felt sense is the surface of the unconscious mind, a doorway to your authentic self and a reliable source of intuitive guidance. Learn how the tools of yoga, breathwork, meditation, body-mind focusing, authentic communication and free writing can take you to the place deep inside that doesn’t have to figure it out – it just knows.

Session One - Saturday morning's session (9:30-12:30) includes yoga, pranayama, meditation, deep relaxation and small and large group sharing.
Session Two - Saturday afternoon's session (2:00-5:00) includes dharma talk, bodymind focusing, authentic communication, breathwork, meditation and free writing.
Session Three - Sunday morning's session (9:30-12:30) includes yoga, pranayama, meditation, free writing, small group work, truth circle and closing ceremony.
