| March 1st Schedule Change |
Effective Monday, March 1, 2010, the following yoga classes will no longer be offered:
|
| Deborah Winegar Gift |
Be sure to notice Deborah Winegar's monoprint "Contemplation," which is now at home in our reception area. Centered Wellness is so very grateful for Deborah's talent and generosity in making a gift of her art to the studio. "Contemplation" is an inspiring and beautiful visual representation of the work we do each day at Centered Wellness. Thank you, Deborah, from the bottom of our hearts! |
| Thought for Today |
The thought manifests as the word; |
| Inclement Weather |
We love yoga, but the safety of students and teachers is our primary concern ... so occasionally classes will be cancelled. Please check the Yoga for Life website if you have any question about class cancellations because of weather. We will always publish studio closures at least an hour (hopefully more) before any class is cancelled. If a class is not identified as cancelled on the Home Page, we plan to offer it as scheduled. |
| Workshop with Shobhan and Danna |
Mark your calendar! Shobhan and Danna Faulds will return to Yoga for Life March 26-28! Invite your family, friends and neighbors to a free lecture on Friday evening - "From the Inside Out: The Way of Self-Discovery." Also plan to join us for the weekend workshop, which promises to be inspiring, provocative and FUN! "Move into Knowing: The Power of the Felt Sense" workshop is comprised of three sessions - 2 on Saturday and 1 on Sunday. Give yourself the gift of all three sessions or join us for part of the workshop. More information about the weekend is available under the "Events" tab. Click on "Register Online" to reserve your space! We can't wait to see you! |
| "Yoga Matters" at Yoga for Life |
Upcoming Events - 3/5 - [No Yoga Matters] What an opportunity! Yoga Matters offers the experience of yoga to the staff, donors and friends of local organizations who may not have an existing practice! Yoga Matters introduces new students to Yoga for Life! Yoga Matters raises money for deserving organizations, many of which are currently experiencing significant financial hardship. Yoga Matters also offers great yoga at the "right price" for students who may also be on a budget. We will share some great yoga … and often have a snack together afterward! Organizations benefiting from past Yoga Matters events include Seigle Avenue Partners, Catawba Lands Conservancy, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Humane Society, Jacob's Ladder, Hornets Nest Girl Scout Council, All Together Now International, Circle de Luz, Carolina Raptor Center, the Alzheimer's Association of Western Carolina, Men's Shelter of Charlotte, A Child's Place and The Center of Hope. More than $3,000 was raised in 2009! Bring your friends because Yoga Matters! Yoga Really Matters! |
| Welcoming Our Newest Yogini! |
We are thrilled to announce the safe arrival of our sweetest new yogini, 8.5 lb. Ezri Gabriella McCue, who was born on January 25th at 3:05 a.m. Both Ezri Gabriella and her mama (Yoga for Life teacher, Ann McCue) are well and happy. Congratulations Ann and Russell! |

| You Asked for It |
If you've enjoyed eating the Dark Chocolate Clusters we've been serving at Centered Wellness, you'll really appreciate how simple they are to make. You'll need the following ingredients:
Melt the chocolate over low heat, stirring continuously. Allow to cool slightly. Stir in craisins and cashews. Drop by spoonfuls on cookie sheets and refrigerate for at least 90 minutes. Release clusters by pressing diagonal corners of the cookie sheet. Enjoy!!! Many students have also asked for the recipe for Yogi Tea. Maureen Scott has graciously agreed to share. Click here for the recipe. |
